Cayucos Library Mural

In 2010 I was asked by the Cayucos Friends of the Library to help come up with some kind of mural for the new library, formerly classrooms for Cayucos Elementary.  The wall space was separated into 8 panels already, so I really had no idea what to paint in this broken up space.  Gretchen Ross and I thought silhouettes may be interesting, so I set about researching and practicing this artform.  It was super challenging for me, but eventually I came up with 8 images of things our local residents may come across or experience in the library.  With the help of Pete Rebstock, Ingrid Goelz, and Kathy Miller, we managed to get these images on the library wall, and it has been a well-received addition to our community, for which I am extremely grateful.
Cayucos Pier Mural

In the Spring of 2008 I was asked to take on the job of Art Director for a 5' x 36' mural which would adorn the public restroom at the pier in Cayucos.  Never having taken on such a project, I decided to give it a go. I came up with  a free-flowing design which included many of our local shore images.  The mixed-media mural was completed in several months by a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals.  Take a look!
