In June 2010 I was invited back to paint at the "Hearst Castle Plein Air Invitational." This year we were allowed to paint on the Castle grounds, on the North and South Terraces. The weather was warm and the paintings were bright and sunny. The paintings were displayed at the Castle at their "Twilight on the Terrace" event. The proceeds from this Friends of Hearst Castle event are used to fund Art Reach programs for underserved youth. A few times a year artists are invited to join the kids as mentors in painting, and this year we were also allowed to paint on the Castle grounds. It is such an honor to be invited and painting with the kids is what it's all about.
Hearst Castle Inaugural 2009
I was honored to be among 20 local artists invited to participate in the Hearst Castle Inaugural Plein Air Invitational paint out in June 2009. We were allowed to paint on the castle grounds for 2 days, after which the paintings were displayed at the "Twilight on the Terrace" event, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Friends of Hearst Castle's artreach programs for underserved youth.
